Today I wore jeans, a white button-down, and a brown belt. I also tied a red, silk scarf around my neck, never imagining how rousing or provocative the ensemble would be. A colleague remarked that I looked like a flight attendant, while one of my adult students said he thought I was trying to dress Texan, like the girls he saw in Dallas at a country line-dancing bar. And here all I was trying to do was dress comfortably and wear something red in honor of the upcoming Lunar New Year. Funny.
