The Star Ferry and Victoria Peak were the two must-see attractions I had to experience in Hong Kong, come rain, fog, or head cold. If they delighted under these conditions, I can only imagine what they're like on better-viewing days.
The Star Ferry has been operating since 1898. A ride on the ferry provides a fascinating means to take in the city, and it's a bargain, too (only $5 HKD each way -about 70 cents). I hopped on at Tsim Sha Tsui in Kowloon and rode across Victoria Harbor to Central Pier on Hong Kong Island. It sounds so fanciful, and it was. The fog and mist only added to the effect.
