Paris in Detail

I love to take close ups of anything but myself. Paris provided ample opportunity to photograph cool things, up close and personal. Here are a few of my favorites.

Paris at a Glance

How do you distill one of the loveliest cities in the world down to a handful of photos? Not a simple task, especially since I took over 1000 pics while in Paris. As I've been thinking through how to do this, it may be easiest to post the highlights in installments.

So, here's the first segment in an as-of-yet-undetermined series.

Back to Reality

It's never easy to come down from a high, and yet doing so is completely necessary since highs are not sustainable (otherwise they'd be normalcy, right?).

My time in Paris and Provence was marvelous. Indeed, I continually marveled at the beauty of my surroundings as France is a beautiful country, and Paris an impossibly pretty city.

In short, I was in France for 21 days, ate at least 18 baguettes, and took over 2000 photos. When I wake up from my jet-lagged haze, I'll post a few.

Off to France

In a few hours, I depart from Incheon for Paris. During my three weeks in France, I probably won't have many opportunities to post on this blog. However, I plan to take loads of pics and write up a storm. So, mark your calendars for July 14th when I'll return to this space with beaucoup anecdotes and photos.

Au revoir, mes amis! See you again in mid-July.

A Moveable Mosquito Feast

If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris as a young man, then wherever you go for the rest of your life, it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast.  -Ernest Hemingway

I've begun reading A Moveable Feast and am enjoying it. Can't believe I've never read it before. Then again, I really disliked The Old Man and the Sea, which probably attributed to my avoidance of all things Hemingway. Anyway, now that I've got Paris on my mind, it seemed like an appropriate time to pick up this beloved work.

In other news, I think I've become a moveable feast for the mosquitoes of Seoul. Yesterday I woke up with three bites on my forehead and more all over my arms. This can only signal the start of a long summer.
